The Greater Cleveland Transit Authority (RTA) runs Cleveland's bus and rail mass transit system. One heavy rail line and two light rail lines compose “The Rapid”, which is the popular name for Cleveland Rapid Transit. All three rail lines of The Rapid meet up at Tower City Center downtown. There are also several bus lines throughout Cleveland, which travel regular and express routes, community circulators, and loops.

Originally created in 1930, the “train-to-the-plane” combination between the The Rapid and Cleveland Hopkins International Airport was the first direct rail and airport connection in the United States. The Red Line runs to the airport terminal from downtown Cleveland, while Lorain County Transit runs from the upper terminal level to Oberlin, Ohio.

Burke Lakefront Airport, a commuter and business airport, is located downtown between Lake Erie and the Shoreway.

If you are planning a trip find out how to get around.
